Responsibilities


1.1 Financial Returns

• Work with the superior in the preparation and management of the department’s budget and is aware of financial targets.

• Recycles wherever possible and enforces cost saving measures to staff.

• Responsible for the proper organization and functioning of the energy management function of the Engineering Department


1.3 Guest Experience

• Advise on staffing and performance levels to achieve maximum productivity.

• Understand key drivers of guest and employee satisfaction.

• Participates in developing new initiatives to enhance guest and employee experience.


1.4 Responsible Business

• Ensure full compliance with Safety Brand Standards and Engineering SOPs

• Consistently ensures adherence to local laws and regulations regarding Corporate Social Responsibility

• Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify manager of potential dangers.

• Maintain the hotel in your qualified trade to the desired standard

• Daily inspection and rectification of all public areas in relation to your trade

• Complete work orders as requested by the Shift Engineer or Chief Engineer in relation to your trade and other directives to meet customer requirements

• Initiate/identify project work required in light of your trade throughout the hotel

• Assist the Shift Engineer with the design of the preventative maintenance program

• Use initiative and foresight to undertake tasks outlined within the preventative maintenance program without the direction of the Shift Engineer/Chief Engineer.

• Be able to show flexibility to change the schedule in light of guest priorities

• General building minor maintenance repaires

• Ensure pool chemical level is in accordance with legislative requirements, is vacuumed and surrounding area maintained to standards established

• Do a lighting check to ensure all globes are in working order

• Investigate reported faults for laundry and kitchen equipment

• Liaise directly with departments regarding the completion of work orders and prioritise in order of guest satisfaction

• Occupational Health and Safety Responsibilities

• Demonstrate Awareness of OH&S policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines

• Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures

• Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly

• Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers

• Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirements


1.5 Occupational Health and Safety Responsibilities
