As an Alternative Therapist, you will be responsible for delivering a range of personalised treatments, ensuring that all guests receive exceptional care tailored to their individual needs. You will also contribute to staff training, while fostering a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and excellence in service.

Responsibilities:

* Perform specialised spa treatments and therapeutic interventions with precision, skill, and sensitivity, addressing a wide range of health concerns, conditions, and goals.
* Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of clients' health status, medical history, lifestyle factors, and treatment goals, using diagnostic skills to develop personalised treatment plans and recommendations.
* Utilise advanced therapeutic techniques and interventions to address specific health issues, alleviate pain, improve mobility, enhance relaxation, and promote overall well-being.
* Educate and empower clients with knowledge and insights into their health conditions, treatment options, self-care practices, and lifestyle modifications, enabling them to take an active role in their healing journey.
* Collaborate effectively with other members of the spa and wellness team, as well as external healthcare providers, to coordinate care, share information, and develop comprehensive treatment plans for clients with complex health needs.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative spa programmes, wellness initiatives, and integrative medicine services, enhancing the quality and effectiveness of care offered within the spa and wellness department.
* Participate in ongoing quality improvement activities, such as peer review, case conferences, and clinical audits, to evaluate the effectiveness of treatments, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices.
* Actively pursue opportunities for professional development, including continuing education, training workshops, and advanced certifications, to expand knowledge, refine skills, and stay current with industry trends and advancements.
* Serve as a leader and mentor within the spa and wellness team, sharing expertise, providing guidance and support to junior therapists, and fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning

Requirements:

* Possesses advanced skills in specific therapeutic modalities, offering specialised treatments that address particular health issues or advanced therapeutic needs, often requiring more extensive training and certification
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with guests and colleagues.
* A passion for promoting wellness and a commitment to high standards of care.
* Ability to conduct thorough consultations and develop personalised treatment plans.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in maintaining treatment areas and inventory.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* A professional, caring attitude and a dedication to delivering exceptional service.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to spa treatments.
* Experience in a similar role within a 5-star hotel environment and/or a Forbes Travel Guide-rated establishment is preferred.
* A minimum of 2 years' experience in the same position is required.
* Fluency in English; additional languages are considered an asset
