Job Description

An exceptional opportunity presents itself for a Director of Security & Safety to join The Raffles London at the OWO.

Your role will be responsible for leading the security and Safety department whilst ensuring the security of all residents, guests and members who enter both the Residences and Hotel areas. Working with the wider hotel team to secure all areas of the hotel and resident areas both front and back of house. Monitoring and upkeeping security systems, monitoring alarms, and reporting to emergency calls. Overseeing fire and smoke alarm testing and health and safety requirements.

The role involves the ability to pre-empt and deliver a luxurious and high-quality level of service whilst managing delivery and service targets.

You will take responsibility for ensuring standards are delivered and security staff have correct equipment and training.

 

Qualifications

Specifically, as the Director of Security & Safety, your responsibility’s will include:

 

  • Leading and managing security teams and department, giving regular training, one on one feedback and appraisals.
  • Managing department budgets, stock control and ordering.
  • Leasing with external security services and police to ensure safety of the building and guests.
  • Developing, documenting and implementing operating procedures, ensuring that they are followed at all times.
  • Liaising with guests, problem solving and dealing confidently with complaints and security issues.
  • Taking all treats to building, guests, residents and staff seriously, conducting investigations and reports when necessary.
  • Overseeing safety standards and risk analysis across the building, delivering training whenever necessary, whilst keeping updated records.
  • Assist guests and residents whilst in the building, communicating clearly and friendly manner.
  • To ensure the safety and security of staff and guests across the hotel and residential areas.
  • To monitor and maintain security and safety systems and standards.
  • Deal with emergency calls, and issues in a calm and effective manner.
  • Monitoring of fire panel and alarm response.
  • Patrolling and offering a friendly security presence in lobby, resident and guest areas.
  • Monitoring, tracking and reporting all lost property items.
  • To report security risks and breaches.
  • Escort guests and residents through the building safely.
  • To lease with external suppliers and security matters.
  • Additional responsibilities in absence of line manager or senior employee.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned including working in a different department or restaurant, than usually assigned.


Who are we looking for?

 

  • Valid and in date SIA Licence
  • Passion and experience in luxury security or a similar role.
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to delivering and offering the best service and experiences possible in any situation.
  • Proven track record of surprising and delighting guests to provide exceptional service.
  • Able to work within a team.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
  • A proven track record and ability to provide high levels of service under pressure.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills, both written and spoken.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task while maintaining an immaculate and professional appearance.
  • An understanding and willingness to contribute to a 24h operational schedule when required.
  • A passion for hospitality and an understanding of the UHNW customer.
  • Previous experience within a luxury hotel environment working with LQA, Forbes 5* or equivalent standards.
