Job purpose


The Head of Maintenance at the exclusive member club is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the club's physical infrastructure and facilities. This role ensures that the club's premises are maintained to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and aesthetics, providing a superior experience for members and guests.



Main Activities and Responsibilities:


Strategic Planning and Execution:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy aligned with the club's operational objectives and standards.

• Plan and prioritize maintenance activities to minimize downtime and disruption to club operations.

Supervision and Coordination:

• Oversee maintenance contractors and service providers to ensure timely completion of repairs and preventive maintenance tasks.

• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to schedule maintenance activities in non-peak hours to minimize impact on member services.

Facility Management:

• Conduct regular inspections of club facilities to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and repairs.

Budget Management:

• Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, including cost estimation for repairs, equipment replacement, and preventive maintenance programs.

• Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost-saving measures without compromising quality.

Health and Safety Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards in all maintenance activities.

• Collaborate with relevant authorities and inspectors to maintain certifications and permits required for club operations.

Emergency Response and Crisis Management:

• Develop and implement emergency response procedures for maintenance-related incidents (e.g., power outages, equipment failures, water leaks).

• Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure swift resolution of emergencies to minimize disruption and ensure member safety.

Team Leadership and Training:

• Provide leadership and guidance to maintenance staff, contractors, and service providers.

• Keep himself constantly trained to improve the skills and technical knowledge of maintenance personnel.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for improvement in maintenance processes, systems, and equipment to enhance efficiency and reliability.

• Implement best practices and innovative solutions to optimize maintenance operations.

Manage other activities relating to or resulting from what is indicated in the previous points.



Key Competencies:


Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proven experience (at least 5 years) in a senior maintenance management role, preferably in a luxury hotel/resort or exclusive club environment.

• Knowledge of one or more foreign languages (min. Italian and English) is a plus.


General Knowledge and Technical Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of building systems, equipment, and maintenance practices.

• Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and other mechanical systems.

• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.


Personal and Interpersonal Skills:

• Excellent leadership and managerial skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address complex maintenance issues.

• Effective communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external.

• Detail-oriented approach with a focus on quality and precision in maintenance operations.

• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of maintenance management.
