Rooms Division Director

With over half a century of history steeped in elegance, vision and transformation, Vilalara Grand Hotel Algarve is seeking an inspiring professional to embrace the role of Rooms Division Director (M/F).

This professional will be responsible for managing and coordinating the daily operations of the Front Office, Boutique and Housekeeping, ensuring the highest levels of guest satisfaction, service standards, operational efficiency, and team management. The role calls for vision and outstanding skill in delivering personalized guest experiences, strong financial acumen, and the ability to motivate and develop teams elevating the reputation for excellence of the Vilalara brand.

• Maximise occupancy and revenue, ensuring effective yield management
• Consolidate and review periodic inventories, forecasts, profit and loss statements and budgets for the Rooms Division
• Monitor and ensure that services delivered comply with the standards established by the Vilalara brand and the sub-brands it represents, recommending any changes to improve operations
• Anticipate guests' needs, recognise and respond efficiently to requests, turning challenges into positive experiences
• Monitor guest satisfaction indices and implement action plans for the continuous improvement of services
• Contribute continuously to the improvement of Rooms Division processes
• Support department leaders in overseeing and coordinating operational responsibilities and team management
• Carry out the necessary audits within the division and the daily inspections of the hotel
• Stay up to date on all hotel features and services, daily occupancy, availability, forecasted arrivals and departures, and scheduled activities and events
• Comply with and enforce the guidelines and policies established by the company
• Participate actively in People & Culture matters, with a view to the continuous development of your direct teams
• Promote and foster a healthy working environment, focused on employee satisfaction and productivity
• Maintain good relationships and team spirit with all Vilalara employees
• Perform your duties safely, protecting the health and safety of colleagues and guests in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety procedures

• Degree in Hospitality Management or a related field (preferred)
• Leadership experience in Rooms Division, or a solid track record in Front Office and/or Housekeeping within a luxury resort
• Strong knowledge of hotel management systems (Opera)
• Excellent communication skills in Portuguese and English (other languages are an asset)
• A proven track record of delivering exceptional guest experiences while consistently meeting financial targets
• Cultural sensitivity, adaptability and comfort working in a resort environment with multicultural teams
• A guest-centred mindset with strong problem-solving skills
• Leadership presence with the ability to inspire and motivate multicultural teams
