Job Description

What you will be doing:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to provide warm, anticipative service to exceed the needs and expectations of our discerning guests through attention to detail and recognition
  • Provide exceptional Concierge information to our guests about local and area attractions, restaurants, theatres, special events, tickets, confirmations and other available services
  • Develop and maintain strong guest relationships to ensure Fairmont Gold loyalty
  • Handle all Fairmont Gold comments/concerns.  Collect this feedback to improve on quality of Fairmont Gold Service and Product
  • Develop and maintain contact with business partners, concessionaires, local community and counterparts of Fairmont Gold throughout Fairmont Hotels and Resorts
  • Develop an engaged, enthusiastic and guest driven team through recruitment, training, personal and professional development and recognition
  • Provide guidance and motivation to the Fairmont Gold team
  • Develop/update job descriptions, JTC’s, training manuals, systems and procedures for all positions are clearly documented and easily accessible
  • Ensure that Guest and Colleague concerns are resolved in a professional and timely manner
  • Coach and mentor colleagues. Creating an environment that allows colleagues to exceed guest expectations and provide a path for career development with Fairmont Hotels and Resorts
  • Conduct performance management in a timely manner
  • Establish effective goals, measurements and action plans for the department; EES, GSI, H&S, ECO, Richey and Financial
  • Representative on the Fairmont President’s Club hotel wide committee ensuring guest expectations are met and exceeded
  • Maintain/Exceed company core standards for Fairmont Gold Product and Service
  • Effective and timely interaction with all Hotel departments including participation and representation in hotel wide meetings /committees as required
  • Member of the hotel revenue management team (Yield)
  • Maximization of revenue by balancing daily A.R.R. and occupancy
  • Work with Revenue Manager, Reservations Manager, Director of F&B, Sales Manager & Front Office Manager to ensure strategies are in place to maximize Fairmont Gold revenue opportunities
  • Maintain department efficiency/productivity
  • Involvement in annual operations budget  -expenses, staffing levels and productivity
  • Complete month end commentaries with outlook and planning toward future months
  • Crisis management and BCP plans for the departments of Fairmont Gold
  • Execute departmental Health & Safety mandate including WCB policies and practices
  • Ensure existing Environmental initiatives are adhered to and new ideas submitted when possible
  • Departmental payroll administration


Qualifications

Your skillset includes:

  • Minimum of 2 years, 4 Diamond Hotel Concierge or Front Office Leadership experience
  • Member of Clefs d’Or an asset
  • Proven commitment to Guest Service and exceeding guest expectations
  • Proven ability to effectively lead, motivate and develop your team
  • Strong guest service orientation and training skills background
  • Highly motivated, organized, goal and results oriented individual who thrives under pressure
  • Excellent organizational, written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional in presentation and demeanor
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Front Office operations, policies and procedures
  • Operational knowledge of Micros Fidelio Opera, Excel and Word


Physical Aspects of Position:

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
