Join the pre-opening team of Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas at Cabo Del Sol as SDirector of Events.  On the stunning southern coast of Mexico’s Baja peninsula, experience Cabo’s Golden Corridor, ideally located between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo.  In the heart of all the action, the coveted community of Cabo Del Sol is home to our modern hacienda-style village, with sparkling ocean views throughout. Create magical memories as hearts beat to the rhythm of Mexican music, art and culture – embraced by the warmth of our Four Seasons “familia.” This ultra-luxury ocean-front resort will include 96 beautifully appointed guestrooms, Suites and Casitas and 61 Residences, Villas and Estates. Amenities will include three restaurants, five bars, three pools, an open-air fitness center designed by celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak, Spa with ten treatment rooms and relaxation oasis, and The Clubhouse.  The Clubhouse is perched above the resort with sweeping Ocean views and it is being designed as THE place to host spectacular weddings and events for up to 250 people.  It will feature and event lawn for ceremonies, an indoor/outdoor ballroom, living room space for entertaining, and a bridal suite.

  • Proven interpersonal skills with a track record of successful client interactions.


Master Your Craft:

The Director of Events oversees all aspects of a profit and service driven Catering and Events Department. This role is critical a critical position to create exceptional events for clients of the resort. 

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years management experience in leading a team in a comparable role .
  • Excellent English and Spanish (Preferred) language.
  • Maintaining and monitoring the accuracy and effectiveness of all written communications. These include but are not limited to: Banquet Event Orders, Resumes, Daily Events Report, Delphi Input Standards, and Guest at Leisure Reports.
  • Review for accuracy and assign to the Event Managers all booking turnovers from the Sales Department.
  • Prepare with analysis the Catering and Events weekly financial forecast, month end financial summaries, and contribute to the annual Marketing Plan and Budget.
  • Complete periodic audits of the Account and Booking Data in Golden Sales & Catering, to include but not exclusive to Conflict Report, Account Traces, Post Conference Reports.
  • Evaluate current sales practices and make recommendations to maximize the profitability of the Catering and Events resources.
  • Establish and oversee the quarterly administration and seek new ways to motivate and maximize revenues with the Catering and Events Incentive plans
  • Finalize the requirements of personally booked or assigned Catering and Event bookings while maximizing revenue potential through up selling and ensuring effective communication both written (Resumes, BEO, Daily Reports) and personal contact with all departments for the success of the event. Ensure accuracy of Banquet Checks and provide bill review on completion of program or event.
  • Supervise the execution of banquet events. Review all function space with banquet manager and when necessary, head house attendant. Ensure satisfaction of client at the outset of all events. Make timely and impromptu decisions, which balance client’s needs with the financial, safety and staffing goals of the resort.
  • Find solutions to the inevitable challenges and glitches that arise while groups are on property and keep Director of Marketing and Planning Committee promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters so prompt corrective action can be taken where appropriate.
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel facilities, capacities and dimensions of meeting space and basic operational needs of all operating departments.
  • Plan and/or attend and/or participate in meetings with hotel staff and clients, including but not exclusive to: Morning Operations Briefing, Morning CS Briefing, Resume Meeting, Banquet Event Order Meeting, Sales Meeting, Pre-Convention Meetings, Bi-Monthly Board of Operations, Planning Visits, and Menu Tastings.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and mentor Events Managers, and Coordinators to develop and prepare Managers and Staff for future promotion and possible transfer within Four Seasons.
  • Facilitate and monitor training, recommend the hiring, terminating, or disciplining of any Catering or Events Managers or Coordinators.
