Leisure Sales Manager - Full-Time / Regular:

The Leisure Sales Manager promotes and sells to the leisure market in the Midwest and Western regions of the United States, and the international markets of Canada & APAC for the property. Candidate should possess the ability to penetrate organizations hierarchy and establish travel agency relationships beyond basic contacts. This position requires a high degree of independent judgment, entrepreneurial thought, discretion, strategic decision-making skill and managing confidential information of the property. The ideal candidate would come with 3 years of leisure sales experience in a luxury setting, carrying existing agency relationships. Has the ability to be a Public Ambassador for Four Seasons Hotels.

Ideally this would be an on-site position but open to remote or hybrid role (dependent on location) with the ability to travel to the property as needed.

Purpose:
In collaboration with the Director of Marketing, and the Director of Sales, the Leisure Sales Manager will play an integral role in the development and execution of an annual integrated plan comprised of strategies that support the Resorts and Private Retreats business objectives. Through strategic thinking and execution, increasing awareness and visibility of the Resort, its offerings, and contributing to increasing revenues.  

  • To uncover, prospect and sell leisure business with a focus on Four Seasons Vail, in accordance with the objectives established in the Marketing Plan.

  • To implement and support all Four Seasons sales strategies, goals, and objectives.



Maximizes Revenue:

  • The ability to direct sales activities of the hotel to achieve budgeted goals.

  • The ability to monitor and identify current and future business trends to ensure profitable sales in periods of low and high demand.

  • The ability to negotiate and achieve maximum revenue/profit potential for the Resort while satisfying client's needs.

  • The ability to be proactive and creative in developing sales and marketing solutions for the Resort.



Sales Responsibilities:

  • Actively sell and manage his/her key accounts as #1 priority.

  • Negotiate and confirm sales.

  • Achieve personal quota or annual revenue goals.

  • Responding and supporting leads and RFP’s.

  • Management of sales travel, trade shows, and sales/marketing expenditures.

  • Support Resort customers in-house to promote good will and foster additional business, repeat bookings or referrals to other Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts.

  • Represent the Resort with customer interactions, operational questions, challenges, and issues.

  • Negotiate contracts with customers and commission agreements with third-party agencies.

  • Business development, active prospecting, sales calls, and management of leisure wholesalers, travel agents, and consortia to increase visibility of the Resort in order to grow and maintain market segments.

  • Help manage the efforts of the Leisure Sales Associate onsite through effective oral and written communication.

  • Meet and entertain clients, some of which will require travel.

  • Develop and conduct persuasive in-person and online sales presentations to prospective clients.

  • Enhance the Resort’s and Private Retreat’s image and stay abreast of the competition, new developments and sales methods and techniques in the private residences industry to maximize sales and profitability.

  • Manage and nurture direct relationships with Preferred Partner, AmEx/FHR, Internova, and Virtuoso travel advisors to ensure reliability and efficiency for future and repeat guests.

  • Navigate through Consortia/Boutique agencies industry contacts with knowledge of the market.

  • Organize and conduct sales site tours and travel agent familiarization site inspections to assist with awareness and in turn, help increase revenue.

  • Curates a personalized and meaningful experience for the Private Retreats, clientele and repeat guests.

  • Work with all departments in preparation for VIP clientele arrivals and experience.

  • Coordinate special sales activities, promotions, sales trips, trade shows, etc.

  • Keep immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken where appropriate.

  • Prepare reports as requested to develop a more informative database for improved management decision making and critical evaluation of work activities.

  • Continuously monitor, present, and communicate current and forecasted financial/business performance.

  • Conduct and/or attend meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among employees and to promote maximum value for our Private Retreat owners and Resort guests.



Hotel Systems:

  • Utilize computerized operational systems (Delphi, PowerPoint, Hotelligence, Excel, Word, FO system, Salesforce, Opera, Lanyon)



Additional Skills:

  • Be a sound analyzer and problem solver.

  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills, with a strong sense of quality and a creative mindset.

  • Ability to multi-task effectively, managing multiple projects while being cognizant of deadlines and priorities.

  • Develop and use good business acumen and be a good "business operator."

  • The ability to be vigilantly attentive to detail, monitor quality, and be obsessively service oriented.

  • The ability to be versatile, flexible, show stress management, manage criticism, and manage conflict effectively.

  • The ability to be a Public Ambassador for Four Seasons Hotels & Residences.

  • The ability to respond properly in any hotel/Private Retreat emergency or safety situation.

  • The ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.



Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Sales goal driven with a track record in high-end residential and luxury leisure sales.

  • College Degree Graduate (4 years or equivalent).

  • Strong and effective interpersonal skills, outstanding communication and presentation skills.

  • Proven relationships in the luxury leisure travel industry.

  • Excellent communications skills (verbal and written) combined with creative mindset.

  • A self-starter that can multi-task and prioritize.

  • Travel – varies but approximately 20% of the time.

  • Fluency in English required, and Spanish is a bonus.
