The Role of the Security Guard (Hotel) I

A Security Guard (Hotel) I is responsible for providing maximum protection for guests, employees and property. They are also required to enforce rules and laws on property and deter criminal activity and other problems that may arise.

Key Functions

• Patrol and inspect property to protect against theft fire, vandalism, terrorism and other illegal activity
  
  
• Posting at stationary positions throughout the property to provide access control
  
  
• Posting at checkpoints to carry out employee bag checks and monitor employees swiping time clock
  
  
• Control access of independent contractors and vendors by ensuring that they log in and display proper ID before entering property
  
  
• Control access of vehicles seeking to enter property and inspect vehicles leaving
  
  
• Monitor public areas and guests floors to identify and remove undesirable persons and trespassers
  
  
• Provide escorts for employees and patrons including escorts of cash and other valuables
  
  
• Provide security for special events and VIP services
  
  
• Provide exceptional customer service when assisting guests, patrons and employees
  
  

Preferred Qualifications And Skills

• Experience: Prior security experience is often preferred, especially in a hotel or hospitality setting.
  
  
• Good communication skills: A security guard must be able to communicate effectively with both guests and staff, as well as with other members of the security team.
  
  
• Attention to detail: A security guard must be vigilant and observant, paying close attention to their surroundings and identifying potential security risks.
