The Release Manager is a crucial role within the TUI IT Application Delivery Team.  As a Release Manager you will be responsible for managing the complete software delivery life cycle to successfully deliver change to the Atcore Reservation Systems.  The successful candidate will work closely with the Delivery and Test Management teams throughout the planning, development, deployment, and test phases of releases to facilitate successful delivery into Production.  Additionally, you will be expected to display effective stakeholder management skills, working closely with business and technology stakeholders at all levels of seniority.  

 

 

ABOUT THE JOB 

 

As a Release Manager you will be part of the Atcore NR Application Delivery Team.  You will have overall responsibility for scheduling, planning, and controlling the software’s development & delivery process, coordinating the path to Production via test environments. 

You will be responsible for the Release Management Lifecycle that involves scheduling the release, coordinating between teams and deployments as per the release schedule. 

You will work closely with the application delivery team, testing team, change advisory board and project teams to align releases with end-to-end project plans. You will maintain efficient coordination between these teams to update the project related information. 

Overall, you will be concerned with planning, testing, tracking, release, deployment, communication, and risk management.  Responsibilities will include… 

  • Planning the release ofhttps://www.simplilearn.com/what-is-a-deliverable-article project deliverables within the Release Life Cycle. 
  • Coordination of the release schedule and resources required depending upon third-party applications, defect backlogs, planned releases, and infrastructure updates.  
  • Identify the risks that can delay the release and manage them, such that the scope scheduled, and quality of the release is not affected. 
  • Track progress and manage issues.  Always work to improve this. 
  • Make sure that the release is planned, according to the requirements. 
  • Schedule release readiness reviews before deployment and retrospectives after each release. 
  • Implementation planning and technical reviews. 
  • Regular updates on planned release activities. 
  • Communicate with release managers from different IT departments. 
  • Lead the Go-Live activities to deploy the software successfully. 
  • Notify and represent releases at CAB meetings. 
  • Maintain documentation related to the Release Life Cycle investing in continuous improvements.

ABOUT YOU 

 

  • Detailed knowledge of Software Development & Release Lifecycles. 
  • Project management experience. 
  • Team management/coordination skills. 
  • Knowledge of traditional agile methodologies, including Scrum, Waterfall, or Kanban. 
  • Good understanding of application infrastructure, system architecture, and operating systems. 
  • Assured demeanour, able to instil confidence in your peers and other team members. 
  • Organised, methodical approach with clear written and verbal communication. 
  • Works well under pressure, comfortable with ambiguity, highly autonomous.
