Who is the course for?

In this masterclass, your instructor will be Brazilian chef Rafa Costa e Silva, whose journey from finance to the culinary world is anything but ordinary. Shifting away from office life, Rafa started at The Culinary Institute of America in 2003 and refined his skills with top chefs in New York such as Jean Georges before becoming the Executive Chef at Spain's Mugaritz by 2011. Returning to Brazil in 2014, he opened Lasai, consistently ranked among the world's best restaurants, and awarded its first star from the MICHELIN Guide in March 2015. To this day, Rafa prioritizes local sourcing, collaborating with small farmers, and cultivating 40% of his menu from his own garden. Blending U.S.A. and Spain techniques with local ingredients, Chef Rafa Costa e Silva crafts a dynamic menu, defining contemporary Brazilian cuisine.
