Job Description

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 Annual Salary

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Talent and Culture.

 

Job Purpose:

This portions supports the management of the Talent & Culture Department of the property and pertains to all areas which support the AccorHotels philosophy of creating an environment where each and every member of the team is recognized and feels valued for their contribution.

 

This role will support the leaders and colleagues in all elements of the Talent Journey including Employer Branding, Recruiting & Selection, Induction & Onboarding, Performance Management & Feedback, Colleague Engagement, Learning & Development, Talent Management, Career Management, Culture Diversity & Inclusion, Policies & Procedures, Reward & Recognition, Compensation & Benefits, Health & Wellness, and Corporate Social Responsibility with the objective of providing business support to all departments through collaboration and coaching.  

 

Primary Responsibilities

Support Company Culture

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Be a role model within the hotel and exhibit and practice professional leadership skills, which are fully aligned with our culture, values and pillars
  • Promote positive Colleague relations through an environment that encourages open communication, trust, mutual respect and fun
  • The ability to organize, attend and participate in management and employee functions, representing Talent & Culture and the Resort accordingly both on and off hotel property


Employer Branding

  • Assist the Director of Talent & Culture in assessing organizational needs, developing aligned Talent & Culture solutions and implement strategies in the areas of employee relations, compensation and benefits, recognition, administration and Colleague wellness
  • Maintain relationships with local schools, colleagues and universities
  • Engage in Talent & Culture social media initiatives to promote the property as the best place to work
  • Compile entries for local HR and Employer recognition awards


Recruitment and Selection

  • Manage and oversee the recruitment process
  • Support the Talent & Culture leader to ensure the property has the right talent in the right role
  • Implement retention strategies to fulfill business need objectives


Induction and Onboarding

  • Follow and Implement all Company established onboarding procedures which ensure new colleagues feel welcome and all team members are prepared for colleagues arrival
  • Coordinate and conduct Company and brand specific orientation programs and training


Performance Assessment and Feedback

  • Support an environment which promotes open ongoing feedback and coaching to bridge gaps for better performance
  • Assist Departmental Leaders with the development of specific action plans to address issues and concerns identified in Colleague feedback
  • Celebrate team and individual success
  • Assist Managers in setting objectives and goals for supervisor and assistant managers


Learning and Development

  • Provide training and support to all colleagues and leaders
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the training by communication with department supervisors and front line talent
  • Support colleagues to access learning opportunities


Talent Management

  • Assist leaders to identify best star talent
  • Assist leaders in the preparation of succession plans


Compliance

  • Support the implementation of Talent & Culture strategies
  • Provides advice on employment legislation and developments in labor laws, Employment Standards and Human Rights in California.
  • Communicate Talent & Culture polices and procedures to all leaders and colleagues


Rewards and Recognition

  • Promote work-list balance to achieve a healthy workforce in each department
  • Support the motivation of talent through recognition and rewards program
  • Implement programs to recognize key events in the lives of our colleagues including birthday, marriages, births and loss of loved ones


Health & Wellness

  • Provide support to colleagues who have undergone any crisis situation or trauma
  • Support a safe working environment by ensuring local regulations and Accor safety standards are upheld for workplace health and safety
  • Oversee Benefits and Wellness programs


Exit Interview

  • Ensure final pay is accurate, timely, and in keeping with legislative requirements
  • Complete exit interviews with departing colleagues


Other

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the Talent & Culture Department and T&C team
  • Advance positive employee relations by building effective working relationships with all constituents
  • Provides assistance and support with employee relations issues
  • Provide support in Colleague coaching and counseling
  • Conduct disciplinary meetings when required
  • Process and maintain confidential information and to properly document information for payroll purposes, i.e. new hire personal information, wage changes, termination, etc.
  • Provide assistance relating to employee relations such as direct line committee organization, employee communication, bulletin boards, employee of the month program, employee picnics, parties and general meetings
  • Follow and enforce policies and procedures
  • Follow all safety policies
  • Manage departmental financial budgeting and month end processes
  • Performs other duties as assigned which are directly related to the responsibilities of the position 


Qualifications

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • 3-5 years of Human Resources experience
  • Prior Hospitality experience is desirable
  • Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications
  • University/College degree in a related discipline preferred
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local law.
