Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities and duties for this position shall include, but not be limited to, the following areas and activities. At management discretion, direction may be given for tasks outside the scope of work described.

• Assist the Assistant Spa Manager in management and growth of the team on all levels.
• Assist the management with executing all operation manuals for department and implementing training programs to ensure the growth of the department.
• Assist the Assistant Spa Manager with monitoring and evaluating employee performance.
• Take responsibility for assisting the Assistant Spa Manager giving guidelines, direction and monitoring for the quality, development and effectiveness of all services offered at the Spa.
• Take responsibility for actively contributing in and directing all job-related meetings as necessary.
• Assist the Assistant Spa Manager monitoring all service standards and keep him/her aware of any operational opportunities. 
• Maintain a safe and hazard free environment for all team members and promote safety awareness at all times.  
• Assist the management, reviewing all suggestions and comments from team members and guests and making necessary adjustments.  
• Keep accurate and up-to-date records on the spa employees and the results of all conducted training. 
• Convey clear instructions and guidance to team members and establishing working relationships that attain a high level of effective employee morale.  
• Take full responsibility in catering for all department related induction of new team members. 
• Take full responsibility for responding properly in any resort emergency or safety situation.
• Take full responsibility for all aspects relating to yoga classes, yoga session protocols, guest journey, private and group guest yoga sessions.
• Conduct one morning and one evening 60 minutes yoga session on each duty day. Additional guest requests will be booked as per availability and with consideration for tasks to be prioritised by Spa Manager.
• Actively participate in team member sessions relating to yoga and integrate yoga activities into resort team member activities program. Duties in spa and with guests will take priority over all team member related demands of this nature.

Qualifications

Education

• Aesthetics or physiotherapy certificate is a plus.
• Middle or Secondary Education + Additional training or certificates in the relevant field is a plus.
• First Aid and CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) certificate is a plus.

 

      Experience:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in hotel industry.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Spa Therapist.
• Proven experience working in a top luxury resorts.
• Experience working in remote island locations is a plus.

 

      Technical skills:

• Hands on experience in massage techniques, manicures, pedicures, waxing and face/body therapies.
• Good knowledge of customer service.
• Good organisation skills.
• Computer skills.
• Ability to Performing different types of massages, beauty treatments, and wellness therapies.
• Ability to solvable problems.
• Detail oriented.
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and different massage techniques.
• Good leadership.
• Fluency in English and another language, written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge of a third language is a plus.
