Elba Restaurant is looking for a skilled and charismatic Bartender to join our team. We’re seeking someone with a passion for mixology and hospitality who takes pride in crafting quality drinks and delivering an exceptional guest experience. While this is a full-time position, we also welcome applicants looking for a seasonal opportunity during the summer months (May to September) with flexible hours, perfect opportunity for those who want to gain experience, enjoy the summer vibe, and be part of a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greeting guests, making recommendations, and taking beverage orders
- Preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
- Creating and updating drink menus, and informing guests about new drinks and specials
- Upselling beverages and topping up drinks when appropriate, as guided by the supervisor or manager on duty
- Developing new and creative cocktail recipes
- Managing bar inventory and ordering supplies to ensure the bar remains well stocked
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming bar area
- Handling customer concerns professionally and resolving issues when they arise
- Processing payments accurately
- Following all food safety, hygiene, and quality standards
- Assisting with other duties as needed to support the team

About you
Requirements:
- Minimum of two years of experience in the hospitality industry
- Training in mixology, bartending, or other related courses is a plus
- Knowledge of common drinks, including cocktails, beers, and wines, and the ability to properly decant and serve them
- Strong mixology skills for both traditional and creative cocktails
- Understanding of unique and complementary flavor pairings
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to evaluate customer satisfaction and respond appropriately
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
- Very good verbal and written English skills
- Friendly, professional, and team-oriented attitude
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and quality standards
- Availability to work shifts, including weekends, evenings and public holidays.
- Language required: English. Maltese is a plus
