Strategic Advisor

About the job

Position Summary

The Strategic Advisor provides senior judgement, industry expertise, and access as MHG Global establishes itself internationally. Execution and follow-through are carried by the Bangkok team.

This is an advisory engagement rather than employment, and does not carry authority to bind the firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Connect hotel owners, operators, and industry principals with MHG Global, and support those relationships until the executive team can carry them forward
  • Advise on market prioritisation, entry approach, and the commercial terms offered to member hotels
  • Attend selected owner and investor meetings where seniority affects the outcome
  • Represent MHG Global at agreed international conferences and industry events
  • Advise on the appointment of country partners and regional directors
  • Support the development of the education ecosystem through industry and academic relationships
Engagement Profile
  • 20+ years of senior international experience in hotel development, operations, asset management, or hotel investment, at Board, Regional Vice President, or Chief Officer level
  • A current and active network among hotel owners, operators, and industry principals
  • Recognised standing in the international hospitality industry
  • Fluent written and spoken English
Engagement Terms
  • Annual retainer of USD 80,000, paid monthly
  • Success fee for each property signed from an introduction sourced by the Advisor, scaled to the property and agreed at engagement
  • Long-term equity participation through ESOP, vesting over 24 months
  • Travel and accommodation reimbursed for agreed engagements
  • Initial term of 12 months, reviewed at 3 months

Success fees and equity participation are structured so that the Advisor shares in the value created as the platform scales.

The company

MHG Global is a hospitality infrastructure platform for independent hotels.

Most hotels worldwide operate outside the major brands. They carry strong local identity and real guest relationships, but lack the technology, distribution, capital, and talent infrastructure typically reserved for large hospitality groups.

MHG Global is building that infrastructure and making it available to independent hotel owners without requiring a brand trade. The platform owns its technology stack, integrated across the hotel network: procurement, CRM, HRM, training, PMS, back office and POS, CRS with content management, TA portal and allotment, and booking engine.

Alongside it sits an education ecosystem. MHG Academy trains General Managers and operational managers to a consistent standard, with a hospitality university in development — giving the platform its own pipeline of qualified talent.

MHG Global's international headquarters is being established in Bangkok, capitalised by APEC Group and Mandala Hospitality Group, which own and operate hotels and resorts across Vietnam. Those who join at this stage help shape what the platform becomes.
