Season: Mid-January to Mid / End April 2026
We are recruiting a Chalet Host & Chalet Chef couple to join our team mid-season for the second half of the 2025/26 winter season. This role is ideal for an experienced couple who are confident, adaptable, and ready to hit the ground running.
You will work closely together and also alongside another host/chef couple to deliver outstanding food, warm hospitality, and a seamless chalet experience for our guests in the Portes du Soleil.
The Roles
Chalet Chef – Culinary & Operational Responsibilities
You will be responsible for delivering AliKats’ high food standards while working efficiently and sustainably in a busy chalet environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Executing our signature 5-day rotating menu for up to 20–26 guests, including breakfast, afternoon tea, canapés, and multi-course evening dinners with the support of another capable chalet chef
Applying classical culinary techniques while incorporating Alpine influences and adapting dishes for dietary requirements
Demonstrating strong skills in sauce work, pastry fundamentals, and refined plating
Managing kitchen operations including food ordering, stock control, and budget adherence
Implementing and maintaining correct food storage, HACCP procedures, and allergen management
Maintaining impeccable hygiene standards and sustainable kitchen practices to minimise waste
Collaborating closely with the Chalet Host and wider team to ensure smooth service and an exceptional guest experience
Chalet Host – Guest Experience & Operations
The Chalet Host has joint responsibility (alongside another host) for the overall presentation, cleanliness, and guest-facing side of the chalet.
Key responsibilities include:
Hosting guests and ensuring they feel relaxed, welcomed, and well looked after throughout their stay
Managing concierge-style requests such as restaurant bookings, ski lessons, childcare, massages, etc.
Driving guests to and from the slopes and around resort in a company minibus
Daily chalet cleaning and room servicing to the highest standards plus weekly changeovers.
Assisting with meal service, washing up, and front-of-house presentation
Managing laundry, shopping, and general chalet upkeep
Working within agreed budgets and following all sustainability practices
Being a positive, proactive team player who supports colleagues and contributes to a great working atmosphere
Skills & Experience Required
Chalet Chef
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a chalet chef, private chef, chef de partie, sous chef, or head chef in fine dining or luxury hospitality
Strong grounding in French culinary techniques, modern plating, and high-altitude cooking
Excellent knife skills, pastry fundamentals, and ability to work efficiently under pressure
Proven experience planning and executing multi-course menus and managing dietary requirements
Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen sanitation
Positive attitude, excellent time management, and ability to work independently
Chalet Host
Previous hospitality, customer service, or housekeeping experience
Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Confident, friendly communicator with a genuine desire to provide outstanding guest service
Essential for Both
Minimum age 21
Full manual European driving licence held for a minimum of 3 years (mandatory)
Previous full winter season experience strongly preferred, as this is a mid-season role with on-the-job training only
Right to work in Europe
Excellent spoken English
Passion for skiing/snowboarding or mountain life
Strong work ethic, flexibility, and commitment to teamwork
