Bij Grandmother Café draait gastvrijheid om échte aandacht, warmte en menselijk contact. Als Café Specialist ben jij het vertrouwde gezicht van het café. Jouw waarde zit hem niet in snelheid, strakke protocollen of KPI's. Het gaat erom hoe mensen zich voelen als ze bij jou aan tafel zitten.

Jij bent die rustige, relaxte factor op de vloer bij wie gasten zich meteen thuis voelen. Iemand die tijd maakt voor een praatje, waardoor mensen net even een extra bakkie bestellen en langer blijven hangen. Samen met het team creëer je een huiskamersfeer waar iedereen – van jong tot oud – zich gezien en welkom voelt. Met kleine gebaren en oprechte interesse breng jij de ziel van het café tot leven.

Side note: we hebben deze rol bewust zo ingericht omdat we geloven dat échte gastvrijheid niet uit een boekje komt, maar uit levenservaring.

Ken je ons nog niet?

Wij zijn The Social Hub. De regelbrekers van de hotelwereld. TSH is een creatieve, bruisende plek waar iedereen kan learn, stay, work and play – en vooral helemaal zichzelf kan zijn. We runnen de boel misschien met de structuur van een hotel, maar we zijn zo veel meer: studentenhuisvesting, coworking spaces, sportscholen, events, rooftop bars en social impact programma's. Met locaties door heel Europa groeien we hard, maar onze community blijft altijd centraal staan.

En wat is Grandmother Café? Dit is ons nieuwste, community-gedreven caféconcept waar alles draait om die knusse huiskamervibe. Geïnspireerd door het warme gevoel van thuiskomen bij je oma, krijgt oprechte interactie hier altijd voorrang op snelheid. We willen dat onze gasten even onthaasten en écht tot rust komen.

Dit is wat je gaat doen:

• Een warme, huishoudelijke sfeer neerzetten waar iedereen zich thuis voelt.


• De rustige, stabiele factor zijn op de cafévloer – ook als het even druk is.


• Op een natuurlijke manier het gesprek aangaan met onze gasten.


• Gasten die alleen zijn of zich een beetje verloren voelen opmerken en een warm welkom geven.


• Mensen meenemen in het verhaal en het menu achter Grandmother Café.


• De lekkerste koffie, thee en andere drankjes bereiden en serveren.


• Met liefde eten serveren (inclusief het afbakken en stylen van onze bites).


• Bijspringen waar nodig en samenwerken met de rest van het caféteam.


• Zorgen dat de bar en het café er altijd spic en span uitzien.

Dit neem je mee:

• Heb je een onconventioneel cv, een carrièreswitch gemaakt of een tijdje niet gewerkt? Juist dan nodigen we je uit om te solliciteren.


• Zelfvertrouwen en een berg levenservaring – je brengt een flinke dosis mensenkennis mee.


• Een natuurlijke drang om voor mensen te zorgen en ze in de watten te leggen.


• De gave om ervoor te zorgen dat mensen direct op怸 hun gemak zijn bij je.


• De rust om de waan van de dag te parkeren als een gast je aandacht nodig heeft.


• Ervaring in de horeca, retail of een andere rol waarin je veel met mensen werkte is fijn, maar motivatie is belangrijker.


• Barista-ervaring is een bonus, maar we leren je de kneepjes van het vak met liefde.


• Je spreekt goed Nederlands en kunt je ook in het Engels prima redden.

At Grandmother Café, hospitality is about presence, warmth and human connection. As a Café Specialist, you're the Grandmother Anchor, your value doesn’t come from speed, technical perfection or performance metrics. It comes from how people feel when they’re with you.

You are a calm, familiar and reassuring presence on the floor: someone guests naturally feel comfortable approaching, talking to and staying a little longer with. You help create a homely, welcoming atmosphere where guests of all ages feel seen, cared for and at ease. Through small gestures, genuine conversation and emotional intelligence, you help bring the soul of the café to life.

This role is intentionally designed to recognise that meaningful hospitality can be delivered through many personal styles and life journeys.

In Case You Don’t Know Who We Are

Known for being the rule breakers in hospitality, TSH is a fun, creative and inspiring environment where everyone can work, stay, learn and play and most importantly – be themselves. As an employer we look, act and think like a hotel, but instead we offer a lot more. Think student accommodation, long and short stay options, gyms, talks, events, rooftop bar and eat & drink escapes as well as community and coworking spaces. Located in The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, and the UK, with several new openings on the way, this hybrid hospitality concept may take root in the heart of Europe, but our plans are set for going global.

What You’ll Do

• Create a warm, homely and welcoming atmosphere for every guest


• Be a visible, calm and reassuring presence on the café floor


• Engage in natural, unforced conversation when appropriate


• Notice guests who may feel new, unsure or alone, and gently include them


• Support guests in understanding the menu, concept and story behind Grandmother Café


• Prepare and serve drinks including coffee, tea, hot and cold beverages


• Serve food with care, including final plating and bake-off items


• Support café service during both calm and busy moments


• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, safety and quality standards


• Work closely with the café team and support colleagues when needed

What You’ll Have
