3x Independent working Cooks

About the Job

Wok Restaurant Royal Palace is looking for three passionate and motivated Independent Working Cooks to strengthen our kitchen team.

Are you a skilled cook who feels at home in the kitchen? As an Independent Working Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting dishes and dish components. You will work under the supervision of the head chef or owner, while also being able to keep the kitchen running independently when required.

You will work closely with your fellow cooks and, where necessary, supervise kitchen assistants. You will follow fixed instructions regarding ingredients, recipes, working methods, and presentation standards.

The position requires availability during the day, in the evening, and on weekends. Working hours and schedules are flexible.

Your Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

• • Selecting and preparing ingredients, including washing, cutting, mixing, and cooking according to recipes;
  • Carrying out interim checks on doneness, taste, colour, and presentation, and making adjustments where necessary;
  • Ensuring consistent quality, cleanliness, and hygiene in the kitchen;
  • Coordinating and supervising assistant cooks and other kitchen staff;
  • Keeping track of stock, ordering ingredients, and checking deliveries;
  • Cleaning the working environment, kitchen equipment, and workstations on a daily basis;
  • Reporting technical defects and resolving simple malfunctions;
  • Providing input on menu composition, menu adjustments, and working methods.

Job Requirements

We are looking for someone who:

• • Takes initiative and can work independently;
  • Has a solution-oriented attitude;
  • Works with confidence and is willing to take responsibility;
  • Has MBO level 3 working and thinking level, or an equivalent qualification;
  • Has demonstrable knowledge of basic cooking techniques;
  • Speaks English.

Dutch and Chinese language skills are considered a plus.
