ALICA [a.li.ka] - a reference to ancient grains in old Greek - is a new bakery / eatery opening in August by the sea in Dubai. The reference to wheat is to highlight the focus on craftsmanship and the importance of being connected to the land.
The design is a creative airy space with simple elements - white walls, clean wood and marble surfaces are combined with elements such as vintage china plates and cutlery to create a quaint atmosphere. Like your grandma’s kitchen, only your grandma is a hipster. The place is a sweet spot between quaint romantic and the industrial template of the location.

You will want to come to ALICA to slow down and enjoy the best bread and viennoiseries but it will easily seduce you to stay through the early afternoon for a curated daily lunch spread. The food is wholesome, locally sourced and organic. Everything happens in front of you in an open space with a natural and cool vibe.
