In a secluded corner of Scotland's eastern highlands, on the shores of the Dornoch Firth, sits Skibo Castle, home to one of the world's most prestigious private clubs. Skibo's name is originally Norse, meaning 'Fairyland of Peace', and such is the allure of the landscape that it drew one of the world's leading 19th-century industrialists, Andrew Carnegie, to build a castle here on the site of an ancient Viking fort. Skibo Castle and its five-star facilities can now be yours to enjoy with membership to the eponymous Carnegie Club.
From your first sight of the castle, down the long beech-lined drive, you know you're somewhere special. Stay in one of the castle suites and enjoy the timeless elegance of their Edwardian origins but with 21st-century sophistication, from complimentary wi-fi to bespoke bathroom toiletries. Alternatively, the estate lodges offer the perfect getaway for families, each beautifully appointed with its own charm and character, and complete with all modern facilities.
