The á la carte restaurant, VIP meeting room, conference and event halls with their breathtaking interiors offer an undoubtedly unique food and drink selection. It is our vision to shed some light on the traditions of Hungarian and international wine, ’pálinka’ and craft beer making, by bringing their finest products to everyone’s table.

Our mission is to become one of the highlights for locals and travellers in the Hungarian capital city, near the St. Stephen’s Basilica and to offer an extraordinary gastronomic and ethnographical experience that is one of a kind in Hungary.

Our renowned Betyár-Chefs, apart from preparing a wide variety of smoked products and grilling first quality steaks, they bring back the famous tradition of campfire cooking in our open-view kitchen using delicate ingredients not only from Hungary, but from everywhere around the world.

Although we are in Budapest, in the heart of the city, our interactive ethnographical visitor center intends to give a taste of this enormous world, the world of the traditional Hungarian peasant culture.

The task of ethnography in the 21st century is to provide a challenge and points of interests for the present for the development of the future, while relying on the past. This is what the Urban Betyár Visitor Center promotes. It shows what is behind the scenes, it calls attention to the colorful Hungarian cultural heritage and it assists everyone who would like to discover the past, present and future of the elements of our ethnographic heritage.
