Searching for an opportunity that just adds up? We’re looking for Asst. Purchasing Manager with a strong enough grasp of the figures to balance managing hotel assets,.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
  • Continuously keeps track of prices through market survey.
  • Monitors vendor reliability, dependability and establishes contacts with perspective suppliers.
  • Secures delivery of required market list items at reasonable prices and in keeping with the hotel’s quality standards.
  • Completes market list ensuring best prices obtained from the vendors according to procedure and forward it to the Receiving Agent in coordination of Materials Manager.
  • Provides constant and accurate feedback to the Materials Manager and the Chef of  market conditions,  product availability,  seasons and price trends.
  • Obtain price quotations for all inventory items at re-order point.
  • Notifies the Materials Manager of market trends,  of price increases that are greater  than 9.99% and of situations in which expected prices increases may justify purchases in excess of maximum inventory levels.
  • Completes a purchase request for each vendor selected, assigns the purchase request and places the order in coordination of Materials Manager.
  • Pay particularly attention to discrepancies between quoted and delivered prices noted by the Receiving Agent and obtains clarifications from suppliers.
  • Carries out IHG Policy and Procedures.
  • Obtain sponsorship from vendors for hotel events and promotions.
  • Assures that Health and Safety procedures are strictly followed in the stores/ office.
  • Performs special duties / projects as assigned by the Materials Manager.
  • Translates operating forecasts into material requirement plans and thereby determines standard stock and reorder levels with Department Heads and Management.
  • Identifies and develops reliable sources of supply & organizes adequate storage for all perpetual inventory items.


What We need from you:

Bachelor’s degree / higher educational qualification.

Administration and Management  -- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

 Production and Processing  -- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Mathematics  -- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.

Economics and Accounting  -- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.

Computers and Electronics  -- Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.

Customer and Personal Service  -- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
