FINAL INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY (FIU) was founded in 2015 in the Kyrenia district of North Cyprus as a partnership between Final Education Institutions, a premier educational brand in Turkey, and the DMG-Akgünler Group, a leading operator in the tourism sector in North Cyprus.

Final Education Institutions

Final has been providing educational services for over 42 years. With its 600+ educational institutions, it has raised students at every level from kindergarten to high school. Until now, over four million young people have fulfilled their dreams through education at Final institutions. Final employs 21 thousand personnel and is also one of Turkey’s most active book and magazine publishers. With the establishment of Final International University in 2015, Final made its entrance into the higher education sector.

DMG-Akgünler Group

DMG-Akgünler Group meanwhile started its activities in 1978 under the name of Akgünler Tourism. Since then, it has continued to invest in accommodation, transportation, tourism marketing and cargo services, becoming one of the top operators in the sector. It has invested in many tourism establishments, notably Acapulco, one of the most important hotels in North Cyprus. It is also the leading organization on the island for tour organization, and air and sea transportation.

Internship start date

Many of our programs have mandatory internships in the curriculum. Tourism Management and Gastronomy and Culinary Arts students have 2 summer internships (generally June to October) and one Graduation Internship (during their 8th semester which might be a fall or spring semester). Students of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (covering Business Administration, Banking Finance and Accounting, International Finance and Banking, Marketing (Digital Media), International Trade and Business, Management Information Systems) have one summer internship that is for 30 calendar days between generally July to October.

Number of students

We currently have 4202 registered students and 893 graduates. We offer associate, bachelor, master and doctoral degrees as well as certificate programs. Internship information is given in previous question.
