The Hong Kong Polytechnic University's School of Hotel and Tourism Management

For close to 40 years, PolyU’s School of Hotel and Tourism Management has refined a distinctive vision of hospitality and tourism education and become a world-leading hotel and tourism school. Ranked among top hotel and tourism schools in the world, the SHTM is a symbol of excellence in the field, exemplifying its motto of Leading Hospitality and Tourism.

More than 2,100 students are enrolled in the School, and there are 70 academic staff from 21 countries, the majority of whom possess hospitality or tourism industry managerial experience - an important quality in an educational programme that provides practical and specialised business education.

The launch of Hotel ICON, our teaching and research hotel marks a new phase in the development of the SHTM. A purpose-built hotel fully integrating teaching, learning and research into a full-service environment, Hotel ICON gives a fresh impetus to our ongoing efforts in the advancement of hospitality and tourism education and research. With Hotel ICON now in full operation, the School will be producing even more quality graduates destined to rise as hospitality and tourism leaders in Hong Kong, in the region and around the world.
